WELCOME
Hello, I'm Mr. Rice and welcome to my homepage for both Honors & General Chemistry. This is outlined by topics to help you organize and plan throughout the semester. I have provided links to give you full access to documents & information necessary for success. Throughout the year I hope that you make connections with chemistry to the real world. Expectations are high and opportunity is there if you want it!

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Chemistry is a one-year college preparatory science course that fulfills the Physical Science HS graduation requirement and the UC/CSU/College entrance laboratory science requirement. Because Chemistry requires a level of maturity and a disciplined approach to learning, students may need help during the course. This help may take the form of voluntary or mandatory tutoring after school.

Honors Chemistry is a weighted course!

GRADING CRITERIA
Grades will be based on the total points earned for a variety of class activities, homework, quizzes and tests, including the mid-term and final exam. Letter grades will be assigned at the end of the semester, based on a percentage scale. Citizenship grades will be assessed at the teacher's discretion using school-wide citizenship rubric along with classroom expectations/behavior.

Keep in mind grades are updated at the teacher's discretion & scheduling!
